How my parents met

Havildar Siddique, as he was known in his outfit was a very energetic and strong soldier. He was famous for his uprightness and honesty in his outfit. During the liberation war, he showed his gallant in many occasions and was made a platoon havildar. He became Havildar within only 6 years of his service. As the war ended, his regiment (3rd East Bengal Regiment) was camped at Akhalia, Sylhet. There he was performing his routine tasks. At one afternoon, he went out in the locality where he came across a beautiful young girl with long hair named Hafiza who happened to be the third daughter of a local business man. They both looked at one another and smiled at once. Neither of them possibly thought that they would consequently be tied together to make a family. Hafiza was a young girl aged 15 or around that. As Siddique came back to his barracks, his thoughts were lost to find anything good about the girl he saw in the afternoon. He couldn't sleep well and got up early that morning.

Childhood Stories Part-1

I was born in a military family back in 1973. The day I was born, the then Havildar AB Siddique and Mrs Hafiza Siddique got a new identity which most couple in this world waits to receive. As they became parents and I being their first child, I was given an extra value by both of them. My Father was a soldier then and my mother being a home maker, found a new space in me for their togetherness and bonding. It was 16 May in that year when I was registered a newborn in the register of Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka and my journey in this world started thereon. I born in a time and a land that was very hard and devastated. It was because, the nation just got liberated from the claw of a tyrant government of West-Pakistan about one and half an year ago. As I learned about those days in the process of time, the price paid for this independence was unprecedented in the history of mankind.
